Description
Health
technology challenges are posed to a broad community of developers, designers,
entrepreneurs and others interested in developing innovative solutions to
health care problems.
HIMSS
platform of almost 80,000 members helps organizations and communities
crowdsource solutions to the problems that are most important to them and to
raise awareness around pressing issues.
Target
Theme:
The
HIMSS SDOH Tech Challenge will focus on Social Determinants of Health and the
impact on underrepresented communities and align with HIMSS new Diversity, Equity
& Inclusion initiative.
Target
Audience:
HIMSS
is uniquely positioned to bring together innovators, patient advocates,
government, payers and provider networks and the community to offer
transformative experiences & serve as the vehicle to address underserved
communities and to improve health and health care for all populations. HIMSS will use our far reaching impact by
promoting patient engagement programs that ensure the underserved are not
isolated or left behind in this digital health revolution.

September 2019– Initiate
community/stakeholder/partner engagement efforts (HIMSS & HIMSS Chapter).
October 1, 2019– Announce
Challenge at HIMSS Georgia Chapter Fall Conference; initiate community
engagement efforts in Atlanta
October, 2019- Host
in-person design – (potentially led by Accenture’s Fjord Design Team)
stakeholder meeting in Atlanta to finalize scope of challenge (i.e. Explore In
conjunction with HIMSS Georgia Chapter Fall Conference )
Mid-October 2019– Launch Virtual

Sponsor collaboration with HIMSS in the design of the Challenge.
Sponsor guidance, input, instructions, and assistance to the Participants of the Challenge. Sponsor agrees that any prototype or ideas developed from such guidance, input, instructions, and assistance shall not be considered or construed as Sponsor’s intellectual property.
