DESCRIPTION

The HX360 Innovation Challenge is a three month, play-off style competition among young companies with innovative products and solutions designed to improve patient experience in healthcare, in addition care coordination, primary care management and related areas.  Participating companies will be those with pilot-ready products and services, although those with some revenue are preferred.

·  Up to Sixty-four companies will compete with multiple elimination rounds to get to a “final four.”  This activity will culminate at the HX360 inaugural event in Chicago through presentations and activities with health systems executives, venture capitalists and other key stakeholders.

·  Two of the final four will win one of several cash prizes intended to fund pilots with major health systems. These winners will be matched with provider organizations following the event in order to initiate the pilots, unless they prefer to work with a provider with whom they have an existing relationship, resulting in propelled growth and further validation of the effectiveness of their solutions with engaged providers.

·  In order to participate, young companies will submit their applications in February 2015. A team of judges will engage in multiple elimination rounds to select the Final Four.  Judges will be expert health system and VC executives who are savvy in the topic of patient engagement, broadly construed.

·  Once the final four participants are identified, they will be paired with a “coach” from the expert judge panel to help them prepare for the day of event (presentation quality, Q&A prep, etc.).

Onsite, the final four companies will have ten minutes each to pitch their product or service and what they intend to accomplish with a funded pilot.  They will also address the type of partner they are seeking and the value they will bring to that entity. A panel of experts will ask questions about the pitches and provide stimulating commentary.  Modeled thematically on the NCAA Final Four concept, the event will include a basketball shoot out social event following the Forum presentations with the opportunity for the winner of the shoot out to donate their winnings to charity.

Sponsorship of the HX360 Innovation Challenge will fund the cash prizes to be used for company pilots. Sponsors will receive significant brand recognition and networking opportunity while being involved with an event that is fun, memorable and meaningful for entrepreneurs, health system executives, venture capitalists and other leading stakeholders focused on innovation.
