The turfgrass microbiome holds promise for transforming golf course management. Attendees will learn to leverage nature’s diverse microbial communities to combat turfgrass diseases more effectively. We'll discuss historical challenges with biological control in turfgrass and explore new approaches to utilize beneficial native microbes. Understanding how the microbiome influences disease development and interacts with management practices and fungicides will be emphasized. This seminar aims to empower superintendents to develop disease management strategies that blend targeted fungicide use for enhanced long-term disease suppression, potentially lowering costs and environmental impact.
