This seminar covers a comprehensive range of contemporary cultural management practices for cool-season putting greens. Starting with performance metrics to evaluate and improve greens, the discussion will then focus on turfgrass species selection, nutrition, soil/rootzone testing, and pest management, including trends in managing anthracnose, summer patch, and Pythium root rot/dysfunction. Emphasis will be placed on summer management to maintain peak performance and how integrated factors affect firmness and smoothness. Attendees will gain the latest insights on cool-season putting green management, modern bentgrass cultivar selection for the transition zone and North, and current practices for nutrition and surface organic matter management to maximize summer firmness.
